"The Shapies" has earned the talented film makers at Light Knights Entertainment several nominations at international award events.
In 2000, Light Knights won the Asia-Pacific Information, Technology and Communications Award. The team was also a finalist for 2 years running at the prestigious AEAF awards in 2002 and 2003. At the awards, Light Knights competed alongside Industrial Light and Magic ("Star Wars - Attack Of The Clones") in 2002, and the BBC ("Walking With Dinosaurs") in 2003. With a budget of just AUD 7.2 million to produce The Shapies, At the AEAF awards, Lights Knights was a proud runner up across 2002/2003 against much bigger rivals and budgets.
Light Knights is also credited as being the first production company in Australia to produce a 3D Television series which ultimately was broadcast in over 30 countries including the National Nine Network in Australia and across United States on the PBS network.
